This size inclusive swimwear collection is fully developed using Optitex 3D pattern making software. Initially drafted patterns in this software were vitually sewn and fit on a true-to-life virual model. Utilizing this 3D process to analyze fit with springs and heat maps lead to live fit and pattern corrections that resulted in accurate first sewn samples. This collection features a hand designed print created using Adobe Illustrator which was directly applied to the digital pattern pieces and printed onto swimwear fabric. The eccentric details that I discovered among found magazine portraits made me think more about individual style and personal choices. I was inspired to imagine unique life stories for each of the individuals pictured. Throughout this process, I discovered how freeing it is to unapologetically live out her own story. I challenged myself to design a collection of boundlessly creative and artistic swimwear that pays special attention to intricate construction details and precision fit. This playful and optimistic collection offers my customer the complete freedom to be her unique self by offering adjustable fit solutions that suit a variety of body types.
